As home and studio for a young couple, the design of the unit maximizes the daylight and openness of the layout. The fluted glass screen door is used to replace the wall of one room and the kitchen wall. As a result, it forms a symmetrical element that flanks a gathering space, while at the same time brings the daylight all the way into the kitchen.

The material is expressed through understated finishes such as plywood, terrazzo-slab, and oak flooring; leaving most of the wall as a blank canvass for the owner’s photograph collection.
